UEL Semi-Final 1st Leg; Manchester United To See Off AS Roma When They Clash At Old Trafford On Thursday 29th April, 2021.

Manchester United have only lost one of their previous six meetings with Roma, picking up four wins and one draw along the way.  They were held to a goalless draw by Leeds United last weekend, extending their unbeaten streak in the Premier League to 13 games. The Red Devils had recorded five straight wins before facing Leeds, but Marcelo Bielsa’s men were able to frustrate them. Still, Man Utd remain second in the Premier League table – ten points behind frontrunners Manchester City.

Manchester United are unbeaten this season In the Europa League, having registered four wins and two draws in the process.  After seeing off Real Sociedad (4-0) in the Round of 32, Man Utd edged out AC Milan (2-1), before cruising past Granada (4-0). Not only have Solskjaer’s men kept five clean sheets in their six Europa League games, but they have also scored ten goals.

AS Roma head into the first leg on a run of just one win in seven Serie A matches, including a three-game winless run. Paulo Fonseca’s side were beaten 3-2 by Cagliari on Sunday, meaning they have suffered four defeats in their last seven league outings.

AS Roma have been very strong in the Europa League this term, losing just one of their 12 games in the competition. Roma overcame Braga (5-1) and Shakhtar Donetsk (5-1) in the first two knockout rounds, before knocking out Ajax in the quarter-finals (3-2).

Manchester United and AS Roma faced each other six times in the Champions League between 2007 and 2008, with United suffering one loss in that time. Roma have lost each of their previous three away games against Man Utd, conceding nine goals while scoring just once in reply.

Manchester United will be without Phil Jones and Anthony Martial on Thursday, who are likely to miss the remainder of the campaign.

AS Roma, Nicolo Zaniolo, Riccardo Calafiori, Pedro and Antonio Mirante are all currently sidelined through injury.
